Grade Allocation

Your final grade will be calculated according to the following breakdown:

  • T1 - Visualization Sketches: (10%)
  • T2.1 - Visualization Design: (7%)
  • T2.2 - Interactive Visualizations: (8%)
  • T3 - Deep Learning Visualizations: (15%)
  • Class Participation: (5%)
  • Presentations: (15%)
  • Final Project (to be discussed): (40%)

Using GPT

You may use AI tools like GPT for coding work, but you must note how you used them in a short paragraph. For readings, discussions and design reflections, GPT is not recommended as it often leads to weaker submissions. Use AI to understand unfamiliar code or concepts, not just copy-paste. Always fact-check the responses by verifying key terms independently.

Academic Integrity

In this course, we uphold the high standard of academic integrity expected of all students at the Institute for two key reasons. First, genuine learning occurs when you complete the work yourself. The assignments are designed to help you master the material, and failing to engage with them personally will limit your understanding and diminish the value of your education. Second, maintaining a fair and equitable environment for all students is crucial to preserving the rigor and integrity of the Institute’s academic program.
